Adoption Information

Adoption may be an option for you as you make a plan for your child’s life. There are many reasons that women choose adoption, but many of those reasons involve the desire to provide a better life for their child. If you believe you are not in a position to parent but don’t want to have an abortion, adoption may be the right choice for you.

You may also be considering adoption for the following reasons:

  • I feel I am too young to be an effective parent
  • I will not have the emotional support to be an effective parent
  • I want my child to grow up in a two-parent household
  • I want my child to have a stable living situation
  • I want my baby to have a better upbringing than what I had

Whatever your reason, your opinion is valid. Before making the decision to adopt, it’s important to learn about all your options. Schedule your free Options Consultation at ABC Women’s Center today to discuss all your options, including adoption. If you do decide on adoption, we will give you the resources you need to choose an adoption option that is right for you.

Adoption Options

After choosing adoption, the next step is to create an adoption plan. Creating an adoption plan gives you a number of choices:

  • You can be involved in choosing a family for your child
  • You can choose an open, semi-open, or closed adoption
  • Each of these options includes reliable degrees of confidentiality and openness throughout the adoption process
  • The decision to make an adoption plan may be made any time during your pregnancy or even after your baby is born
  • If you would like to keep your information private and have little to no interaction with potential adoptive parents, you can choose to have a closed adoption

Remember, you have the ability to choose the type of adoption that fits your current situation.
